The eight seasons create a unique climate
Winter tightens its grip from the end of November with the start of the Dark Season. It is a time when life has to go on a low-key basis, not least due to the lack of natural light. The bear and other animals go into hibernation to save energy. Pine and spruce trees are the only green that matches the green color of the blazing northern lights. The bark of pine was an important ingredient when we developed Aarja's KOLLAGEN. Traditionally, the use of pine bark has been important for strengthening the skin's protective barrier and connective tissue in the body. And in winter, pine bark is a good source of antioxidants.
In February, the sun is finally back. With the light and the gradual increase in temperature from the sun, the frozen nature slowly but surely begins to wake up. After a long winter, last year's saved energy is soon used up, and when March arrives with longer days, the ice begins to melt and the snow takes on a different consistency. Under the snow, the plants begin to prepare for the hectic rush of spring, and the bear comes out of its den. The first birds return after a winter stay in the south. The bravest plants finally dare to look up through cracks in the snow. These early herbs contain life-giving vitamin C. Our own Elisabeth struggled with low energy and fatigue for a long time, and we made Aarja's VITAMIN C with Nordic herbs. A source suitable for creating balance and combating fatigue that reduced her quality of life for several years.
VITAMIN C 500, ZINC & CHAGA
If you sleep too long, you may miss the short spring in the north. Even though the sun shines for several hours a day, life awaits its ecstasy. When the snow melts completely and the river ice breaks open with a loud roar, the leaves suddenly pop out on the trees and the reindeer are ready to calve. Several bright green plants surprise with their presence. Spring flowers finally dare to look up through cracks in the snow, and the dew rises in the trees. Then finally comes the time when the night is bathed in light. The midnight sun provides the basis for the plants' unique adaptation in the north. The combination of light around the clock and the crisp spring air is what triggers the plants to produce their own protective substances against cold and radiation, such as antioxidants, vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids.
We found that multivitamins and cranberries can increase energy levels after a run in nature. After stress and exercise, we felt the need to replenish vitamins and minerals in our bodies - the result was a natural energy drink MIND&BODY BOOST. The energy drink with Nordic berries and multiple sources of vitamins, minerals and amino acids to create balance and energy, especially when afternoon fatigue sets in. For harder and longer sports performances, we created a real performance booster with Nordic sea buckthorn – Isotonic SPORTY BOOST.
MULTIVITAMIN AND MINERAL
In June, new life has come. The landscape shines in shades of green, and nature shines. The midnight sun provides a basis for growth 24 hours a day, even if the north wind brings periods of cold nights. Focus for all parents; birds, animals and people feed the new life with proteins, minerals and vitamins that provide energy and build young and older bodies. The mineral MSM in organic sulfur – is one of the most important minerals for supporting the body's many processes, cells and building connective tissue. We created OptiMSM+C with a combination of the world's purest MSM and added the Nordic super blueberries for natural taste and effect. The young in the family prefer MSM when the mineral taste is not too prominent, and a plus is that the antioxidants build resistance.
Summer in the north is not long, but is fully enjoyed from the end of June. Everyone who comes north at this time of year comments on how bright the colors are in nature. It's as if the flowers, leaves on trees, herbs and berries have a little extra natural coloring - which is true. Blueberries are dark blue due to the extra amount of antioxidants and the cloudberry gets an extra red-orange tint on the islands along the coast. Even the trees have a lot of sap and thus a strong green color on the leaves. There is good visibility in the rivers, and the fish wake up in blue, clear water. Low energy in this beautiful season can be a signal that the body is missing something. A family member of ours was diagnosed with B12 deficiency, with low energy levels, heavy breathing and heart palpitations. We therefore developed a natural vegan dietary supplement with B12 with Nordic blueberries. It helps the brain, nervous system and immune system for balance and resilience.
VITAMIN B12 + B9 (FOLATE)
At the end of July, the midnight sun bids farewell to this year, and the evenings gradually get darker. People are looking forward to this year's forest and mountain hikes, not least because it is time to pick blueberries and cranberries. Many people get energy through short and long walks in nature, and sometimes their muscles scream after several hours of walking on steep hills and rough terrain. Håkon has had many years of demanding management positions. His best tip for dealing with stress is activities such as running in the mountains and forests. For Håkon, physical activity is an important basis for good health, and to strengthen the muscles, nervous system, heart and prevent leg cramps, Aarja developed a unique MAGNESIUM dietary supplement with the best and purest sources, added to Nordic cranberries.
When autumn is in full swing in mid-September, with colder nights and light snowfall, the trees draw their energy back to their roots. This process gives the leaves bright orange and red autumn colors. Harvesting nature's surplus is in focus, and the first northern lights dance in the sky. For the family, the focus is on getting the potatoes out of the ground and picking mushrooms and berries. The highlight for many is the start of the year's grouse hunt. Later comes the moose hunt and the time to gather and separate reindeer into reindeer fences for the Sami. This is heavy work, which requires strength and a good bone structure. Natural calcium is an important mineral for maintaining normal bone structure and blood coagulation. Aarja's vegan CALCIUM also contains D3 from lichen and the popular vitamin K2 and 72 other natural trace minerals. When the skin absorbs less sun, the body needs a supplement of VITAMIN D to get a good absorption of the important minerals calcium and phosphorus.
With the first heavy snowfall, the bear gets ready to save energy and prepares for hibernation. The last migratory birds leave their nests in the bird cliffs by the coast. The sun's rays become fewer, until the sun bids a temporary farewell at the end of November. This is the time to replenish vitamin D and good marine fatty acids to maintain the brain and body's important functions. Aarja's OMEGA3 KRILL contains top quality marine oil, EHD and DHA fatty acids made from krill, a microscopic crustacean that lives in the world's coldest waters. The crustacean contains marine antioxidants with a good content of astaxanthin and choline, which means that Aarja OMEGA3 KRILL gives you pure and effective fatty acids that the body and not least the heart greatly appreciate. Everyone who has grown up in the north has filled up on omega-3 fatty acids during the winter months during their childhood. This is because the body itself cannot produce these.
