How I got my energy back | The story of Elisabeth

In this blog post, Aarja's co-founder and brand manager, Elisabeth, tells her personal story about how she regained her energy and well-being in her everyday life.

Frustration and illness

"I can easily remember how frustrated and hopeless I felt when I was in my 20s, when my health wasn't working well. This was the period in my life where I was supposed to be at my best, at least I thought so! After three heart surgeries almost in a row, I felt a tiredness and exhaustion that I had never experienced before. Just taking a shower or going to the store felt like insurmountable tasks.

I gathered enough energy to be able to work , but after work I couldn't do anything. My free time was spent on the couch, and I felt ashamed because no one understood what was wrong with me, because to the outside world I just looked lazy.

For me it almost felt like lying in an open coffin, because in my head I wanted to do things, but my body didn't listen . It was like paralyzed.

At that time I didn't know what to do, and all I felt was that my health was just getting worse and worse . I remember the time when I thought I couldn't take it anymore , and I kept asking myself, is this really how my health will be for the rest of my life ? I couldn't find any answers.

Finding the right solution for my situation was n't easy when I didn't understand how my body worked or what was causing my problems. If I had known all the things I know today, my 20s would have been completely different, I'm sure .

A slow and steady start with encouragement

Of all things, I found my partner during this difficult time in my life, and he introduced me to running . He was an athletic and active person, and he had a lot of patience with me. We started slowly, but after just a few times I already felt like I had more energy! I still remember how surprising and good it felt. Was that all I needed?

I suddenly had more energy to do more things after work , and had the energy to clean out a closet, for example. It was so rewarding for me . The more energy I spent jogging, the more energy I got .

I have to admit , I wasn't really into it before, and I'm still not super excited about it. But with all the amazing health benefits, I'm motivating myself to get out the door.

The best medicine for me today is still being out in nature. It lifts my mood, it gives me energy, I feel strong and it clears my head . I have learned that any activity is better than none . Read more here about how to easily get started with exercise: Activity is always healthy.

Eager to learn about how the body works

It turned out that my partner also had some serious health problems. One often takes good health  as a matter of course  in to one  lose it. We started a health journey together and we wanted to learn more about how we can  improve health ,  also in alternative ways.

We traveled to meet various experts and health gurus around the world. world that specialized in nutritional treatments. What surprised us was how many  did you have tea  in common with us  and that s war on good health is not in prescription  medicine, but in how you live your life.

This means that it is better to prevent what causes illness, rather than getting an illness and then treating the symptoms with medicine. We discovered a whole new world of alternative health and ways to take care of yourself.

We gathered a lot of information from different sources, and also along the way on  During the journey, we made changes to our lifestyle - what we eat, how we take care of ourselves, and that we sets our own well-being as a priority. A few years later , we both found that our health was better than ever!

What is important to us today?

We want to make sure we get all the vitamins and minerals we need through our diet or from supplements because a poor diet causes a lack of important nutrients that our bodies need every day. A poor diet is usually one of the causes of poor health, disease and gives us little  energy. It took me  more  years to understand what proper and adequate nutrition means.

I thought always that dietary supplements our  unnecessary travel  I thought that if you eat a varied diet  should be enough. The food we buy today is not so full of nutrition as one might think, and you have to construct your diet very carefully if you want to get all the nutrients through your diet.

Here up in the north where we don't have sun for 2 months  There is nothing more important than taking extra Vitamin D3 supplements . My winter season was far better than before. thanks to my running routine and my dietary supplements.

Bank at the table ,  but seasonally based  diseases rarely bites now  compared to before. I really believe in the power of strengthening the immune system naturally. I think it's about proper nutrition, exercise , fresh air  and rest. When all things are balanced You will have more energy to enjoy your life to the fullest!
