Our story

Aarja Health did not start with a business plan. It started at home, with our own family and a need to find a better way forward.

After a serious period of illness, we realized that supplements were an important part of recovery because the modern diet lacks many essential nutrients.

We began looking for supplements we could feel confident using ourselves, but found a market that was often difficult to navigate: complicated formulations, long ingredient lists, and products we did not feel entirely comfortable with.

We asked ourselves a simple question: If we were going to create this for our own family, how would we do it?

That question was the beginning of Aarja.

The road ahead led us to Finland, known for its very strict requirements for food safety and quality. Today, we produce our supplements in our own Finnish factory, which has a BRCGS AA rating, using carefully selected ingredients and raw materials from Nordic nature. This gives us control over the entire process and confidence in what we create.

We are not concerned with following trends; instead, we develop only supplements that we ourselves want to use and give to our family. Every ingredient must have a purpose, and our formulations are developed with a focus on proven ingredients that can genuinely make a difference.

Aarja has grown, but behind the products there is still a family and a team that care about what we make. We promise to hold on to the values we started with: quality over shortcuts, transparency in everything we do, and products we can personally stand behind. What began with a desire to create something better for our own family is the same thing we want to create for yours.

Håkon Volden

The founder of Aarja Health

Håkon grew up in Hammerfest, where his family started fish farming as far north as possible. He eventually took over the leadership of the company, which was later listed on the stock exchange with great success. He has had a long career in the aquaculture industry and played a central role in building Norway’s largest export industry after oil and gas. With his expertise and international experience, he was also appointed by the government for a period to serve on Norway’s “Forum for Increased Value Creation in Business.”

Elisabeth Strifeldt

Co-founder of Aarja Health

Co-founder Elisabeth Strifeldt is of Sámi descent and has always felt a strong connection to nature. Through Aarja, she aims to reclaim the lost wisdom of nature and how we can use it to heal ourselves. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication and has extensive experience in branding and marketing. Elisabeth is responsible for the design of Aarja Health, from the packaging to the logo and website.

Diego

Co-founder of Aarja Health

Diego is the co-founder of Aarja Health and a key figure behind the development of our effective dietary supplements. Working closely with our highly qualified Finnish developers, he has helped create products whose quality speaks for itself. Diego has always followed a clear philosophy: to create products so good that they do not need marketing—they will sell themselves. As a certified naturopath specializing in medical biomagnetism, cell microscopy analysis, and microbiological laboratory analysis, Diego possesses unique professional expertise. He is also an active member of the association for natural therapies in Spain. Through his work, he has helped many people recover from various health challenges—always with high-quality dietary supplements as an important part of the overall treatment.
