For just over a fiver (less if you buy in bulk) you get 90 days supply of these excellent tasting AARJA Health vitamin C with wild bilberry tablets.Excuse the aside but I have always loved the taste of Bilberries and can remember the 1960s summer when Lyons Maid made it the flavour of the middle stage of their rocket shaped iced lolly (Sky raider? I think) and picking and eating them in late summer on Blackdown near Cheddar. Yum Yum!The tablets are light purple in colour and solid. You may crunch them, swallow them or suck them. I have tried them and prefer sucking. They easily melt away and that way you get the best bang of the lovely flavours. They are quite small so may potentially pose a chocking hazard for very small children (but they could be ground down and put into a drink, if required). They use Xylitol (C5 H12 O5) as a sweetener, which while slightly less sweet than sugar has 40% fewer calories and is better for your teeth. The tablet dose is 50 mg of vitamin C. The recommended daily amount for adults is 65-90 mg and for children between 15 and 90 mg depending on their age and gender. So the dose of these tablets is pitched pretty well for most purposes plus they are easily slit in half along a pre-marked line for half doses. My 2 year old niece likes these very much and now has her own supply but doesn't always like that she is rationed to one dose a day. I also like them and I haven't found anyone yet who did not say ' those taste nice'.Possibly, not the cheapest source of supplementary vitamin C but certainly the tastiest I have tried. Add to that they are sensibly sized and provide a sensible real world daily amount. Some of the ones I have got are 1000mg and honestly that is too much to take regularly, i.e. on a daily basis. Add to that they are suitable for vegans and made from natural ingredients. They are even kinder to your teeth. The benefits of Vitamin C are widely documented and easily Googled. I would recommend this particular source.Update: March 2021, we have just brought some more. They are still good value and Josie still loves them.
